About us
Some places are more than rooms.
For more than ten years, the “acting and arts” venue in the historic Neufang building in Saarbrücken has been home to our tango classes, the teacher training and international events. Friendships formed here, people from many countries met, and a lively community grew.

A new home in an old house
The Neufang Brewery in Saarbrücken was founded in 1815. Its surviving warehouse at 7 Dudweiler Landstraße, built between 1923 and 1925, is a listed historic building.

Questions
When can I book?
You can already ask for the Studio, the Aula or the whole space. Send us the dates you have in mind and we confirm each booking personally.
What does it cost?
What matters is your financial situation, whether you are booking as an individual or an organisation. Please choose the standard rate if you can comfortably afford it, and the community rate if you need the reduced price.
When is my booking confirmed?
We hold your date for two weeks from our reservation confirmation. Within that time the full rent is due in advance, or the first month for regular bookings. Your booking is confirmed once the payment arrives. If it does not arrive in time, we release the date again.
If the times you need differ from the ones in the booking system, write to us and we will find something that works.
What if I need to cancel?
Please cancel or change dates by email. What counts is when your message reaches us, measured from the agreed start, or from the first day for multi-day events.
Full and multi-day
- At least a month before: free
- At least two weeks before: 50 % of the rent
- Less than two weeks before: 100 % of the rent
Half day
- At least two weeks before: free
- At least a week before: 50 % of the rent
- Less than a week before: 100 % of the rent
We refund rent already paid, minus the cancellation cost. For hourly and regular bookings we agree cancellation terms separately. Moving to another date is possible by arrangement if the space is free.
Can I book regular hours every week?
At least 2 hours, recurring, at least 4 sessions, Monday to Thursday.
Who sets up, tears down and cleans?
You take care of setting up, tearing down and cleaning yourselves. If you need help with that, please contact us.
What equipment is there?
- Water, electricity and heating
- Shared use of the foyer, toilets and terrace
- Wi-Fi, a projector and sound systems in both rooms
- 20 conference tables, 8 bistro tables and 100 upholstered chairs in total, a mixer and a large drinks fridge. This equipment is shared between both rooms and allocated as agreed.
- Glasses, reusable cups, cutlery, crockery, serving platters and tablecloths in limited numbers
Please let us know in advance which equipment you need and how much. When events run at the same time, we split what we have between them, so you may need to bring extra equipment.
What should I keep in mind on the day?
Your rental time includes set-up, teardown and cleaning. Plan enough time for it and hand the space back by the end of your slot at the latest. Arriving earlier or staying longer only by arrangement.
Leave the rooms tidy and clean: dishes washed and put back, tables wiped, everything you brought and all rubbish taken away. Unless agreed otherwise, please put tables and chairs back too.
Keep escape routes and exits clear and stay within the agreed number of people. We agree loud music and its times with you in advance. No open fire or fireworks, though candles on a birthday cake are fine as long as someone keeps an eye on them.
Please tell us straight away about any damage. We recommend event liability insurance that also covers damage to rented rooms and equipment.
How do the keys work?
We arrange the key handover and return with you in advance.
After the event you lock the rooms, the corridor and both building doors, upstairs and downstairs. There have been several break-ins, so please check every door. If a key goes missing, tell us right away. If the loss is your fault, you cover the cost of replacing it.
